Considerations when creating a skin campaign:
- The Audience: It’s all about the audience and so the user experience must be at the core of all skin creation. Make it a pleasing user experience by ensuring the landing page is ready and encourages those who have clicked on the skin to convert (e.g. purchase, sign up, download etc.).
- Logos: It is recommended that logos be left off skins or that logos should be on the right side of the skin to avoid clashing with the site’s logo in the masthead.
- Scrolling vs Fixed Skins: Sites have either ‘scrolling’ skins or ‘fixed’ skins. The benefit of fixed skins is that they stay in place and remain constantly visible as the user scrolls down the page – more user friendly in other words!
- Gradient: Adding a gradient at the bottom of a skin in order to fade to a solid background colour gives the skin a stronger aesthetic and enables the brand to fully leverage the environment on which it is built.
