Considerations when creating a skin campaign:

  1. The Audience: It’s all about the audience and so the user experience must be at the core of all skin creation. Make it a pleasing user experience by ensuring the landing page is ready and encourages those who have clicked on the skin to convert (e.g. purchase, sign up, download etc.).
  2. Logos: It is recommended that logos be left off skins or that logos should be on the right side of the skin to avoid clashing with the site’s logo in the masthead.
  3. Scrolling vs Fixed Skins: Sites have either ‘scrolling’ skins or ‘fixed’ skins.   The benefit of fixed skins is that they stay in place and remain constantly visible as the user scrolls down the page – more user friendly in other words!
  4. Gradient: Adding a gradient at the bottom of a skin in order to fade to a solid background colour gives the skin a stronger aesthetic and enables the brand to fully leverage the environment on which it is built.
